As Robert says its hard to recommend hardware with out knowing your end requirements

But you can have some guide lines such, ( these are my minimums)

A good motherboard that supports PCI-Express and SATA
You need a good graphics card supporting Opengl 2.0 with at least 256mb ( I would recommend NVIDIA, we use Quadros at work and I use Quad 7950's for my own stuff)
( DO Not use an embedded graphics card like Intel)
Get a pair of good SATA drives 10k rmp and raid0 them if you need fast disk access
I would recommend 2gb of Ram if on Windows  good quaility fast Ram ( any more is wasted on Win32)

Interesting set of "minimums" ;-)

All the OSG really needs is OpenGL 1.1 support, and will happily run on machines with low end CPU, low end memory and low end graphics, only really stipulation is the OpenGL drivers are decent, and this is where Intel and some others fall short.  The OSG was original developed on a PII233 512Mb machine, compile would be slow, but the apps would run fine.

Robert.
