Hacky way indeed. I already thought about that but was sort of hoping
there would be a nicer way to do it. Especially since this will probably
have me hacking all over osg in short order. Being able to use a
release-build of osg is really one of my goals. Apparently I need to
adjust my goals to include "help implementing what I need from an osg
release" Which suits me just fine, I'm just not sure I have the time for it.

Many users are pushing the OSG's envelope in lots of different ways -
once you have enough users and they do enough interesting things users
will get to points that the OSG no longer provides for - the solution
is engage with the community and the code, so you've taken the first
;-)

osgLua/osgPython is still pretty new and thier widespread usage will
certainly flesh out parts of osgIntrospection/wrappers and the core
OSG API.  I'm keen to get any holes filled in and get it integrated in
time for the next release.
