Thanks, I've download the database and come across a few problems. When I run

 osgviewer master.ive

The tiles are paged in slowly, taking quite a few frame hits along the
way, presumably because of large display lists or textures. Doing the
compile in a shared context in the background might be the solution
for this.

The second problem and outwardly more serious is that the low res
tiles that come up initially are all white, and just very simple
quads, and as the higher res tiles are paged in holes appear where the
tiles should be.

If I run

 osgviewer tile*.ive

After a delay in load the whole model loads up and runs at a solid
75Hz without a frame drop in sight.

I haven't looked at master.ive yet, perhaps its an issue of versioning
(I'm using OSG CVS) or perhaps paths.

If you need s.th. bigger or some adjustments to your needs, we might be
able to provide those, too.

What did you mean with the "s.th." above?

And if you allow me to do some advertising: the terrain was generated
with Trian3D Builder v1.1, which we have just released. Sure it's based
on OSG- what else? ;-)

He he, no harm a little advertisement :-)

Thanks for the database, it'd be good to get everything running
without any frame drops, something a future round of database paging
experiments...

Robert.
