HI David,

The OSG convention for models is tht Z+ to be upwards, X+ to the east,
Y+ to west. This is consistent with most vis-sim modelers/packages,
but not all.

What modeler are you using?

The OSG itself will work with other coordinate frames, you simply need
to set the camera's view matrix accordingly. However, most of the
loaders and utlities default to the Z+ convention so its generally
easier to just go with the flow, and rotate any differently orientated
model to this orientation.

Hi all,

I'm new to OSG and have a question. In a modelling program my mesh has its
fore-aft axis long the Z axis, with +Z being forward.

When I load it into an OSG scene with the camera at 0,0,500, looking towards
the origin where the mesh is, rather than seeing the front of my mesh I'm
seeing the top of it.

Is this something to do with the OSG classes having a different idea of "up"
than the Producer classes?

Regards,
David Taylor.
