You're right -- looking back I see the same artifacts on this computer
with 1.2.

It's harder to see on screen, but I think it's there.

Yes, I've stayed away from ATI for so many years now only to come try
again and find things... suboptimal. Sigh.

I'm playing now with
"glGetRenderbufferParameterivEXT(GL_RENDERBUFFER_EXT,
GL_RENDERBUFFER_INTERNAL_FORMAT_EXT, &params);" to see if any
information can be gained...
