Bingo. osgviewer G:/OpenSceneGraph-Data/sample.wrl = test scene displayed. I guess since we're dependent on an old version of OpenVRML there's little chance this will be fixed, so I'll document it visibly on the Wiki page.
OTOH, could we do a workaround somewhere, like replacing all backslashes with slashes before passing the path to OpenVRML in the plugin, for example?
Anyhow, I have hopefully fixed the issue now, please test again once the change makes it to SVN (or use the patched file I sent to osg-submissions).
Referring to OSG_FILE_PATH, direct path with backslashes will still not work as it's an OpenVRML problem. Thanks for the fix.
