All true, and I never said that this approach is "wrong" or has inherent
problems. My question is rather: why was this done at all in the first
place? "It's not harmful" is hardly a good reason. Judging by all the past
problems with coordinated releases (wrt. core) all it seems to accomplish
is to create more work for everyone.
