It was actually a bit worse than that. We were all
doing our own abstractions and they all had bugs in
them. Part of the benefit of standardizing it was that
we could concentrate on making it work correctly once
and all benefit.

When did u standardize it? Just for encyclopedic knowledge!
Because at some tutorials I have found over the web, I think that they
still propose the serviceListeners model,
so apparently the didn't refactored their tutorials to the
serviceTracker model (yet?!).
