I would like to put into account concept of migration in terms of Java normal
program. Migration concept can normally classified based on two fundamental
aspects: state and code migration. Code migration refers to code transfer and
state migration refers to object's state transfer. Strong migration can be
identified as a migration technique which can be realized by instrumenting code
migration as well as strong state migration. Strong state migration is
extensively determined from the concept of state migration. Strong state
migration is claimed to require strong execution
migration and data migration. Strong execution migration in turn is a extended
concept of execution migration and it can be attained by implemeting strong
program counter migration and strong thread migration and strong data
migration. Strong data migration in turn demands stack, member and resource
migration. And weak migration can be implemented to have such capabilities: the
code segment is transmitted to target host with some initialized data or in
other words, weak migration can be realized by only code migration.

And I do believe that OSGi bundle is in fact can be considered as a Java normal
program and we can apply the concept of migration to OSGi bundle. Is it
correct? As far as I know that whenever OSGi bundle reaches remote OSGi
platform, it will probably loose all its states because it must be restarted by
invoking the method Start(Bundlecontext bc) inherited from the interface
Bundleactivator. So far, I do not know if there are on going project tacking
concerned problems of migrating OSGi bundles or not and I do not know about the
feasibility of implementing strong migration or some types of weak migration in
terms of OSGi bundles.

Thank you a lot for your attention and I am looking forward to hearing your
opinion.
