IN BRIEF / MEXICO
Greek Man Accused of Smuggling Iraqis

>From Times Wire Reports

Mexico's attorney general's office said a Greek citizen was being
held on charges he helped Iraqis enter Mexico with fake passports.

Dimitrios Kiassos was arrested May 12 at Mexico City airport and has
been held over for trial after a judge reviewed allegations that the
Greek participated in a migrant smuggling network.

Iraqi migrants were charged $6,000 for fake Greek passports with the
goal of reaching Tijuana, across the U.S. border from San Diego, and
later crossing into the United States, prosecutors alleged.
