PARIS: A Paris court on Wednesday convicted eight people of providing
logistical and financial support to suicide bombers who blew themselves up
in 2003 at five sites in the Moroccan city of Casablanca, killing 45 people.

Sentences ranged from a one-year suspended sentence to 10 years in prison.

All eight were found guilty of "criminal association in relation to a
terrorist enterprise," a charge often used in France so that investigators,
and prosecutors, can make a wide sweep in the search for terrorists or their
accomplices.

The courtroom, full of family members, erupted in anger when the verdicts
were announced. There were cries of "there is no justice."

The man who allegedly served as chief of the group, Mustapha Baouchi,
received a 10-year prison sentence to be followed by his expulsion from
France and a ban on his return. Baouchi allegedly underwent explosives
training in camps in Afghanistan.

Most of the suspects are thought to have been in contact with Noureddine
Nafia, a member of the Moroccan Islamic Combatant Group, or GICM, a
terrorist group believed to be linked to the Casablanca attacks. Nafia is
serving a 20-year sentence in a Moroccan prison for the attacks, which left
the 12 suicide bombers among the dead.

All of those convicted were born in France or moved here as small children.
They were arrested in April 2004.

Three French citizens were among those killed in the bombings on May 16,
2003, enabling anti-terror investigators to open an investigation.

Moroccan authorities continue to make sporadic arrests related to the
Casablanca attacks on diverse targets that included a major downtown hotel.
About two dozen people have been convicted in Morocco of involvement in the
bombings.

In March, Moroccan police arrested Saad Houssaini for alleged participation
in the GICM. There were suspicions the former chemistry student made the
bombs used.

The GICM has also been implicated in the deadly attacks in Madrid in March
2004.

"Fair Use" criteria established in Section 107 of the Copyright Act of 1976.
The principle of "Fair Use" was established as law by Section 107 of The
Copyright Act of 1976. "Fair Use" legally eliminates the need to obtain
permission or pay royalties for the use of previously copyrighted materials
if the purposes of display include "criticism, comment, news reporting,
teaching, scholarship, and research." Section 107 establishes four criteria
for determining whether the use of a work in any particular case qualifies
as a "fair use". A work used does not necessarily have to satisfy all four
criteria to qualify as an instance of "fair use". Rather, "fair use" is
determined by the overall extent to which the cited work does or does not
substantially satisfy the criteria in their totality. If you wish to use
copyrighted material for purposes of your own that go beyond 'fair use,' you
