A Saudi Arabian student attending Roger Williams University was arrested
last week for allegedly making a bomb threat after Bristol Police
investigated reports of suspicious activity on campus.

According to the police release, on Thursday May 5, 2011 at approximately
7:50 a.m., Bristol Police responded to Roger Williams University for a bomb
threat. Abdulrahman Khalid Althuwayb, 25, of 286 Wood Street, was arrested
after police investigated the report of a threatening statement made to a
RWU Dining Services Supervisor. According to police, Althuwayb allegedly
requested food service before the center was open and made a threatening
statement to a RWU Dining Services Supervisor. Police said that the worker
served Althuwayb and asked him to come tomorrow when the service would be
open.

According to police, the supervisor and a second school employee claimed
that Althuwayb replied, "okay, don't worry today is the last day, and
tomorrow I blow the walls out".

The day after police responded to the school, the university sent out a
campus-wide email

erson-at-roger-williams-university> explaining why officers had been on
campus, providing basic information about the incident and reassuring
students and faculty that the situation was under control.

According to police, Althuwayb was taken into custody at the RWU Campus and
brought to the Bristol RI Police Department. Althuwayb was charged with RIGL
11-35-18 Bomb Threats and Similar False Reports and was arraigned on
Thursday May 5, 2011 in the Sixth Division District Court in Providence RI
and held on $10,000 with surety bail.

While at Roger Williams University, Althuwayb was enrolled in the ELS
Learning Center Program and takes courses at the university. According to
police, Althuwayb is a citizen of Saudi Arabia, and US Immigration and
Customs Enforcement set a Detainer for Althuwayb
