In Florida at WOSonOS 2013, with students as our co-hosts, our theme was The World is Waiting... Are we Ready?
Behind that theme was the invitation to see that in Education, at Work, and in Community, our mechanistic and hierarchical ways of working are no longer working. We have reached the crisis point with people yearning for so much more. Hierarchy, predictability and control are embedded in so much that we do. Open Space helps us return to the essence of us to what it is to be human, to connect with others on something bigger than any one of us. Agile (Scrum, Kanban, etc) helps us jump start into new ways of working and doing. Its values are so aligned with Open Space hence the beautiful partnerships that we see evolving. From idea to action, passion and responsibility.
