Subject: [oslist] More from TMN...

Just another teaser...

Some nice discussion started on Jef Aitkens Item "Open Space and
Indigenous Science."

        3:6) 19JUN2000 10:48 Dylene Maeve Cymraes (dylene)
From a quiet place inside myself this morning, I remember as a child
learning everything I could get my hands on in all of my science
classes and in my wayward studies, I always felt there was something
missing in the way science was presented. It was clean, and cold, and
clinically removed the inherent magic of living to reduce a living
being
to cells in a petri dish.

As I raised my children to walk barefoot and feel the vibration of the
earth, and knew that if people could learn to stop talking for a
while and
learn to sit together in silence this was part of the beginning for
me.
The perspective I can bring to this discussion is, I suppose, Woman
Science if there is a name for it.

In looking at our planet as a living being, and at us as parts of
Her then it makes sense that we can find ways to help her heal by
being
genuine with each other and the environment. Artificial systems will
NEVER be in step with authenticity. (I think that is why I like OS
it is
a process that evolves naturally, as opposed to an imposed system that
never quite meets all the corners.)

So many thoughts! Where would you like to begin? People, planet?

   Dylene
