Lena-- Yes, I do support you, because I like your ideas and because you are a friend and because it is one of my values to support people who are doing what is important to them.
One way you can widen the scope of your meeting is to make a quick list of who you know in the various systems which you would like represented. With a short personal call or e-mail, tell them what you are doing and why you would like to have them join you (good if you can find some personal "hook.") And ask if they would bring others that they think should be part of the discussion. And have your committee make some personal calls as well, after your committee meeting. It is always flattering to have someone say "I need you and your ideas to be a part of this." And maybe your son can talk with some at the university. If you have a small group, or one that represents only a few segments of the city, one of the discussions can be how to get others involved. Of course it is going to work!
