Dear Gottlieb, dear Joelle and you others out there, boundaries appear to me to be structural or system elements that go into that which then evolves as the structure of the open space event. These elements (boundaries, limits, space, time, topic, set of principles, law and the vast array of experience, knowhow, spirit, etc that the participants represent in their presence) are brought into that which I often experience as a highly structured affair which we know by the name "open space-event". The way in which what is selected and fit or set into place to have as what I experience to be a highly structured and productive process is a mystery to me. My hunch is, however, that it, the "open space-structure" evolves or comes to the surface as part of what some have called the "open space-organisation" which appears to be part of the nature of organisations/systems. What I am trying to get at is: Is my facilitator mode in regards to boundaries, limits etc. not only a marginal element? Or put differently, is that concern on these issues a leftover "control-control-control" part of me which is hard to process? Greetings from Berlin michael
