Meg, I do think that space has been opened at national and regional OD Network conferences over the years; many OD practitioners have had a taste of OST.
I am intrigued about Meg Wheatley, for example, who seems to have chosen a particular process (the "world cafe") as a practical expression of the self-organization about which she writes and speaks. In the same way, "chaordic design" is favored by some. I have chosen OST as the expression of self-organization that I prefer. Still I have learned from chaordic organization design which has a perspective that I find different and useful (and is wonderfully jumpstarted with OST). And now that I have begun to facilitate the world cafe, I'm learning that I love it also! especially for 2-3 hour meetings. Thanks for raising your question -- I wonder how this thread will unfold.
