here in Australia a few years back - the township of Marysville where
we held OSonOS has been virtually destroyed by fire. News reports are
saying variously only one building to a handful of building remain
standing.

Dear Viv, Rob, those who were at the wondrous WOSonOS at Marysville and All
What tragic times for everyone associated with this lovely country town
and its region not far from Melbourne. Fr Brian and his committee made
the inspired decision to stage the first WOS in Australia in the
beautiful Marylands Hotel close to the town. For much joy was
experienced both in the formally opened space and in the associated
activities. Among these, as Larry has mentioned, were night walks in the
surrounding forests to spot possums and other tree dwelling animals.
My thoughts go to those who have suffered such terrible personal
devastation and loss and to all the people of Australia.
The memories of happy times and friendships renewed and forged among the
OS community live on.
