In my experience (with my standard opening of 15 min MAX) - by the time anybody has collected themselves sufficiently to complain about the chaos everything has already become a smooth flowing recitation of the issues with the agenda forming rapidly on the wall. If they want to leave then, I say God Speed and good luck. As for explaining - Don't bother. You will just confuse them. And they probably won't believe you anyhow!
