Hi the last time the red pointer worked was in v2.24 after that the red pointer is only visible i you calculate a route to that point. But when i am walk in a city i like to see where i am heading. For example i enter my hotel as a way point, i walk left and right a sometimes i like to see where my hotel is, which way i am walking (going away or towarts my hotel) and how far i am. Dont need no route calculated to my hotel for now. Now i could say calculate a route from the position i am. But the problem with that it keeps calculating (= battery power loss) after i walk a few meters and i dont want to go to my waypoint, i just want to know that my hotel is 7 km at 170 degrees behind me, thats all. Also the tick purple calculated line makes the screen so full of information it disorientates me more then i helps me. Also makes it easier to go around neighborhoods that are known to be not "safe" For me it was the most important function i use and tried other apps after but unfortunately nothing works as good as OSMAMD and would be so happy if it could come back. Luckly i have the old v224 so i can reinstall it but that also means i am not getting all the new functions that are build, so its or v224 with the red help arrow and no updates ever or using the newest version and missing my biggest help in a unknown city :-( -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Osmand" group.
