I see that maps for some large regions I've been downloading and using -- for instance, regions of France and Germany -- now seem to be segmented into smaller territories under new names. I'm no longer sure what I need to keep updated for the places I visit or drive through.
Without becoming intimate with administrative details of all the places I may want to visit or pass through now and in the future, how can I tell simply what maps to download and keep current? Relating the names of downloadable maps to their geography can be painful if you begin from nothing. For instance, when I began with Osmand I had to go to Wikipedia to look up administrative districts in several countries -- not always clear -- but now the task is multiples more difficult. It would be fine if I could get a comprehensive map on screen, even one with few details, zoom and shrink it, and queue downloading a map for a locale just by touching it or clicking on a location. And is it possible to "download the map for where I am now, without looking up anything further"? pk -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Osmand" group.
