The OSM link suggested by Metaluc says there's a JOSM plug-in 
<https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/JOSM/Plugins/EditGpx> for editing 
GPXs. I haven't tried it, but I wonder if it would be useful, given that 
JOSM is where you wind up.
