This topic has come up a few times here on the board: how to navigate a
"generic" GPX that wasn't created with OsmAnd itself. The problem (and
this isn't confined to OsmAnd) is that navigation is on the track, not the
underlying map. This results in "turn-by-turn navigation" that marks each
turn in the road, which is not helpful. I first thought the answer was to
use OsmAnd's regular navigation tools to essentially paint over the track.
But that's often difficult because, typically, posted and personal tracks
are scenic tours not, efficient A-to-B routes. (That's why people create
them in the first place)

So I experimented and wound up with three suggestions: 1) simplify the
display (including, unfortunately, turning off voice guidance--which is
hopeless on twisty roads), 2) add intermediate destinations that count down
the distance to turn-offs you might drive pass, and, perhaps, 3) add GPX
waypoints for street names and POIs. The video demonstrates these.

Obviously, a software solution would be better, but Github conversations
suggest this is a tough coding problem. So for the time being, this
approach seems to improve things. Your mileage (Kilometrage?) may vary.
Feedback
welcome.
