Since it stands to reason that most amenity=parking areas will
contain plural parking spaces, this means that there are a huge
number of unmapped parking spaces in the real world. Until someone
draws the individual parking spaces in OSM, there will be, sadly, no
way to route an individual directly to the particular location of a
disabled parking space within a larger lot when the particular space
is as yet unmapped.
I'm not planning to map all the parking spaces in the world, but I'm
planning to map all disabled parking spaces in my town, and this would
be enough to have a good test case :-)
And, if one person in each town did so, for disabled parking spaces in
their town, the level of coverage would shoot up quite a bit.
OSM is, after all, mostly a volunteer project. While some are paid to
map things, most simply map items that are missing and that are
important to them to map.
Any addition, no matter how small, helps everyone else who is using the
data.
