You are right. In the 3.4.8 the setting is missing. Previously in the Navigation settings, the first option was to choose which route calculation method was used: OsmAnd, Online calculation (using Graphhopper) or "bee flight" being a straight line . I can't find that Setting anymore, nowhere. That is definitely a bug, possibly introduced when the navigation profiles were introduced.
