Hi Roberto, in my case, the method 1 is working. Maybe it has to do that my smartphone is .... PND. There is no sim card inside and it is set to airplane mode. wifi also to OFF mode into my experiments. With this method there is also the "simulate navigation" option. You can "see" like a video the route
about "plan route" if you need to share the gpx file with other applications or original outodoor PND like garmin, i suggest to set the option "simplified track" to ON.
