Unfortunately it does use Pulseaudio for
sound, but nobody's perfect ;-)
And thus unusable for me, I refuse to touch that.

You may not be interested in Gqrx, but for the record it works fine without Pulseaudio, which is listed as optional in the Gqrx README.md file.
