The attached patch does several things:
1) Check the returned value in change_on_off, so the user can't
accidentally make a device's selected recording source not visible.
2) Use ossxmix.xpm also as a window icon.
3) Reduce MAX_DEVS to 16. Make neccesary changes to extnames to allow
this.
4) Set gtkvu initial level to 0, since this is closer to reality.
5) Fix some memory leaks, and other small changes.
