I didn't look at the code, but I wonder if a MIXT_GROUP control inside a
MIXT_GROUP increases update_counter.
In that case, if we have this: GROUP1->GROUP2, than GROUP2 won't be shown but
GROUP1 will. Do we care about this scenario?
