Hi,
I suspect that midi development will move from the dead point only if some
enthusiasts really try use new midi API, write software synthesizers,
sequencers using it or port exisiting programs. This process should disclose
varoius flaws in api (if such exist) and bugs in drivers. Unfortunately
nobody seems to care about that.
