Since the wiki clearly states that this option is possible I was wondering how to get there ( e.g. how to compile what so that these options are available ). For all I know I've compiled everything in a way that phonon should support oss via xine. Any non phonon application does play sound via oss v4 just fine ( e.g. xine + oss v4 ) > If Phonon already has OSS (OSS/Free) support then it may require some > changes to work. That was my thinking, too and I was wondering whether someone here knows what it takes to make this happen.
