I use this in production on servers and it's the most flexible and reliable tool we have evaluated. If we bought some seim or "log management" app there would be as much if not more overhead in configuring it. Spending more doesn't mean more rapid implementation.
Trend needs to realize this at the top of their org and figure out how to capitalize on it. And another thing. Open source tends to be more secure because instead of a select few auditing the code you have the masses who wish to securely deploy it while hopefully contributing to it's maturity. Remember Sun during Jonathan. Perfect idea. Overly idealistic attitude. This comment sounded like more of a Larry comment. Look at how everyone avandoned opensolaris now that Larry is in place.
