I've got nothing particularly against Bill, apart from a
tendency to dubious business practices. But he is far less of a dick
than Ballmer etc, and far smarter than the people (like Ray Ozzie)
he has left behind -- and is actually doing the most serious
philanthropic work we will likely see in our lifetime. The only
political comment he is directly credited with there (increase
deficit spending in economic downturn) is both one I agree with, and
one I wouldn't generally associate with the US business lobby.
I think history will see Bill as a sort of modern era Robin
Hood, looting and scamming the corporate world and the wealthy
global middle classes, and using the money to help the worlds poorest.
