Hi,
Unfortunately, there is a down side to the very efficient implementation
of siftfast, which is its stability ... On some machine we experience
random crashes tracing back to sift fast code, and I do not know how to
fix this. You can also try the SURFKeyPointSetImageFilter which produces
SURF keypoints. It is less fast, but more stable, and it has the same
API as SiftFastImageFilter.

We are playing with a code which uses otb::SiftFastImageFilter, but we

(As you can see this pipeline is simply composed of a
otb::ImageFileReader connected to a otb::SiftFastImageFilter.)
When we try this toy on little images, it works fine. But when we give

I doubt physical RAM is the point (we are on a 1TB RAM smp node).
OTB version is 3.16
Os is Scientific Linux 6.2 (Carbon)
We try to learn more with GDB, and we get this:
