About Arcgis, the main problem concern display and shape edition. For now the 
best way seems to be to use postgis in particular with topology in order to 
have good performance as suggested by Michael Douchain from 3liz.

Indeed the main problem seems to be due to very big and complex polygon (mainy 
nods) which meens that polygon index are not enough to enhance performance, 
that postgis topology could be solve. I need to try.
