Eric,

The problem comes from ITK; developers obviously didn't plan negative 
spacingx values.
Don't worry about reporting that bug, I'll do it myself.

Could you just output the result of ReadImageInfo within a txt file, and 
attach it to this post: 
I am intrigued to find out which projection system resulted in producing 
negative spacingx values.
