Dear Ned,
The answer is more simple : the pansharpening application expect
registered images (i.e. spacing and origin must match). If you want an
application that includes registration/resampling, have a look at
BundleToPerfectSensor. You can also performa a Superimpose beforehand.

I have a feeling this is caused by a conflict between the image origin
being defined by the pixel center or corner and perhaps a rounding
error. Here is a table of the X/Y coordinates using the coordinates
for the upper left pixel reported by gdalinfo and the error message
from OTB Pansharpening

The output from gdalinfo lists "AREA_OR_POINT=Area" and in that case I
think the upper left corner of the pixel should be used as a
reference. If AREA_OR_POINT=Point the the center of the pixel would be
used - at least that is my understanding.
I also see there is a "Tolerance" in the OTB error output. For some
reason the difference between the gdalinfo and OTB Y coordinate for
the Pan image is 0.8 and it should be 0.75 is it is for the X
coordinate. Maybe this is the problem? Is it a rounding error?
Anyway, if anyone has suggestions about how I should deal with this
please let me know.
