Unfortunately yes. This is due to some deep dark packaging issue. Ubuntu
packages are now pulled from debian gis (as most ubuntu packages are).
Debian has a strict licence check policy and the 6S third party library
we use in OTB is distributed without any licence. Therefore we
deactivated it (and consequently the Optical Calibration tool) in debian
packages. This is going to be solved soon. In the mean time, if you need
the optical calibration, you can :
- Try our self-contained package for linux:
https://www.orfeo-toolbox.org/packages/OTB-5.2.1-Linux64.run . You just
need to run & go.
- Build your OTB using superbuild to ease the pain.
