Hello Darell,

The color dynamics options in Monteverdi are only used to setup the display of
the image. They should have no effect on any application processing. This
“clipping” of the histogram happens on the fly when rendering the image view
and do not modify any data.

The only parameters that affect an application are configured in the
application window (or in the command line when using bash). There is no
clipping or other histogram manipulation happening in the LSMS framework a far
as I know (or anywhere in OTB for that matter).

Objet : [otb-users] Percentage of the band histogram that is clipped to obtain
lower intensity threshold

Hello,

I have a question regarding to the percentage of the band histogram that is
clipped to obtain a lower intensity threshold. When loading an image in the
Monteverdi GUI, images are automatically clipped with 2% at both ends of all
bands. This is easily changed by using the min/max function. However, when I
process files through a batch file (the exact large-scale meanshift
segmentation framework), all images are also clipped with the 2% at both ends
in step 1 (meanshift smoothing). Is there a way to disable this clipping with
batch file commands to just use the min/max of the all bands? I am now missing
some segments in shadow areas, which this clipping seems to make worse.

I've attached the window in the Monteverdi GUI where this setting can be
adjusted.

Many thanks in advance!

Kind regards,
Darell
