I educate patients, families, other disciplines and yes, even sometimes physicians, on the role of OT. I work in long term acute care and the role of the OT is generally not confused with PT. When I introduce myself to a new patient, I also explain what OT does and how I can help them achieve their goals. Also, people see your name badge and ask,"what is OT"?, another oppurtunity to explain OT. Our facility offers a team approach, and OT is part of the team.
