Hi everyone. I am an undergrad OT student. I normally just read what everyone has to say, but I have a question. My mother has herniated disks and she has been in pain for several weeks now. Recently, her left foot has become numb, and she can only lift it half way, and she has no feeling in her foot. The doctor said it was her L4 and L5 disks. She was recommended to a PT, and when she went to go see him he told her that she should return to another doctor. I was just curious why she wasn't recommended to an OT and if an OT would be able to help her. I would appreciate it is anyone would respond. Thank you so much.
