Hi, I'm a lecturer in OT in England (UK) relatively new to the list.

To me that sounds a pretty terrible way for an OT to have to work.  Not 
least because as an OT you should be working from the point of view of 
the future functioning of your client - so it's a unique perspective 
based on the the *client's* goals.  Of course within that you could 
have objectives like 'improve concentration' but you must consider for 
what aspect of the client's life?

Sigh - is OT in the USA really so prescriptive???

Also, there is a difference between goals (client focused) and 
recommendations (therapist generated) the latter being recommending 
someone should not return home based on a safety assessment.
