Hi Rick:
 
The usual precautions after an OHS is:
 
  1. Shldr. ROM on left limited to 90 degrees upto 30 days or per the physician's recommendations.
  2. SPO2 at least 90% and greater at all times.
  3. Close monitoring of BP/ including postural.
  4. With Hx of sleep apnea: this client might need a bi-pap HS , head of bed raised at least 30 degrees or more.
  5. Follow the cardiac rehab phases with MET guidelines:
  • Phase I - Week 1
  • Phase II- Week 2-3
  • Phase III- Week 3-4
  • Phase IV- Week 4 or 5
6. Appropraite breathing/ pacing techniques.
