Hello everyone,
I am one of the quiet observers in this group. I want to say that have enjoyed some of the discussions had been pretty interesting and thought provoking at times. I hope this time you will be able to help me out. My colleagues and I in our rehab center (in Singapore) are involved in setting up a virtual reality similar to a driving simulator. WE are encountering some problems with patients experiencing some "simulator sickness"; nausea, headache after using it for a few minutes. I have 2 questions: 1) do you think it is ethical to continue with the project in view that 50% of our patients feel sick after that? Do we want to carry out something that we are aware that may cause quite a discomfort to our patients? Or is it part and parcel of this program... and we just accept it? 2) do any of you have any experiences dealing with this prob in your centers or hospital? or come across with literature dealing with simulator sickness? If you are interested in our study... i am pretty happy to share our experience with you.
