Thanks for responding!  You can view the entire bill at:
http://thomas.loc.gov/
Just type in H.R. 1 where it asks for the bill.  It is amazing the
bureaucracy associated with this piece of legislation.  There are so many
tacked on amendments that could have a disastrous effect.  This reminds me
of the Balanced Budget Act.  If you can remember the excuse for the
arbitrary therapy caps was that it was a tacked on last second amendment
that didn't receive adequate review before passage.

Jimmie,
    There is a snippet in this weeks Newsweek under "fast chat"  that 
states the prescription-drug benefit for seniors  includes "a complex 
set of deductibles and spending thresholds that leave large gaps in 
coverage."  This article also states that the backlash will not be 
realized until after the 2004 election.  A senator is  quoted as saying 
that "For politics, it's an A-plus.  For policy it's an F-minus."   My 
guess is that  this won't be the last surprise regarding the 
availability of services for our seniors-especially that frail elderly 
population who has less of a political voice.
