Beng - As far as a car, I think you would need one.  Most of the SNFs with a lot of therapy vacancies are quite rural.  You might could survive without a car, because whoever brings you will probably help you get an apartment close by, but if I were you, I would want a car.  It seems that the filipinos I have met new in the country get help on setting up cars and apartments from someone at the company they are working for.  I do have one piece of advice about that. They will probably try to put you in a new car, because it is just easy and quick to buy a new one and set up payments.  But if I were you, I would ask to get a used car.  You can still pay for it with payments if you can't afford to pay all at once, it just takes a little more paperwork to set up.  My family buys all our cars used and we get along fine with that.  I meet so many American therapists who are so far in debt, try not to get sucked in to that trap.  -- Jody
