Hello:

The other day, I met with a PT manager of a local branch of a National
rehab company. We were discussing OT services and the role that HOPE
Therapy could play in their company. One of the first discussions
centered on my belief that OT should not be practiced as upper extremity
PT.

In the past, most PT's that I've talked with about this subject, have
agreed with this perspective. However, this PT has a different idea. He
believed that the current $1,500.00 cap on out-patient PT/SLP and OT
almost mandated that PT's treat lower extremity while OT treat upper
extremity. The manager felt that clients would be able to receive more
PT services if OT is utilized to treat upper extremity issues.

Just thought I would share with the list.

Ron
