I have never dealt with a patient with this, but I had a friend who had a sudden onset of hearing loss in one ear. She waited a couple of weeks to see if it was some type of sinus that would clear up without treatment, then it took a couple more weeks to get an appointment with an otolaryngologist. The sad thing was, she was told her hearing would be gone permanently in that ear, but if she had sought treatment sooner, they may have been able to save her hearing. So thats my input. -- Jody
