In our center... if the tone is really bad. MAS 2 or 3. The consultant will give
a nerve block. In some cases we splint the elbow in extension progressively . We
recommend a slow progressive stretch.

guess my creative juices are dried up. i have no suggestions for interesting
activities to increase ROM

Subject: [OTlist] hypertoned elbow

I have been treating a hypertoned LUE for 8 weeks, with succes of breaking tone
in the shoulder and wrist. My problem now is the elbow. I have been using
several purposeful interventions to the pt (otherwise will not participate) ie
simple PROM activities. Pt is TBI status post automobile accident and laid in
bed approx. 6 weeks with LUE flexed.Does any one have any suggestions as to how
to aggresively treat the elbow or have any interesting activies to increase ROM.
