Have you used the COPM or any of the MOHO interviews to determine what the client
feels is meaningful, what s/he wants to do, or what s/he needs to do? These
instruments can be used with the client and primary caregiver/family member if the
client seems to have difficulty participating in the interview process. These should
then guide you to occupations that the client will be willing to participate in,
because they are occupations meaningful to her/him. You've said s/he won't participate
in activities that aren't meaningful to her/him, so you need to go back to the source
to determine other interests.

In our center... if the tone is really bad. MAS 2 or 3. The consultant will give
a nerve block. In some cases we splint the elbow in extension progressively . We
recommend a slow progressive stretch.

guess my creative juices are dried up. i have no suggestions for interesting
activities to increase ROM

Subject: [OTlist] hypertoned elbow

I have been treating a hypertoned LUE for 8 weeks, with succes of breaking tone
in the shoulder and wrist. My problem now is the elbow. I have been using
several purposeful interventions to the pt (otherwise will not participate) ie
simple PROM activities. Pt is TBI status post automobile accident and laid in
bed approx. 6 weeks with LUE flexed.Does any one have any suggestions as to how
to aggresively treat the elbow or have any interesting activies to increase ROM.
